Do you need help with your benefits? Perhaps you are not sure about a letter you have received and need some advice? Every Friday between 10am and 1pm our development worker Tina is there to help.

Looking for affordable childcare over the summer holidays?
We are running a holiday club for 4 – 11 year olds:
Week 1: 22nd – 26th July, 8am – 6pm
Week 2: 12th – 16th August, 9am – 5pm
Week 3: 19th – 23rd August, 9am – 5pm
Week 4: 27th – 30th August, 9am – 5pm
Activities will include nature walks, world food tasting, arts and crafts, yoga, dance and sports and more.

Community Learning

Thursday 5th

Employability Level 1 (Kickstart Plus in Construction)

This free course runs for 5 weeks and is aimed at adults over the age of 16. It's a chance for you to learn the basic skills to help you get into employment successfully. Learn how to present yourself in an interview and how to create a CV and develop your team work skills. You will work towards a level 1 employability qualification.

You can sign up for this course as part of the Kickstart Plus, delivered in partnership with Keepmoat Homes, Salix and SCC, which in addition to the Employability course, includes:
• Site visits
• Employers expectations
• Health and Safety training (including COSHH)
• Practical skills session

Please note that there is an introductory session on Tuesday 3rd September 12pm - 2pm at St Sebastian’s Community Centre for those wanting to attend this course.

Employability Plus: Foodwise

This is a free five week course aimed at adults. It's a chance for you to learn the basic skills to help you get into employment in catering:
• develop your skills to become a successful employee
• develop your team work skills
• learn how to present yourself in an interview and how to create a CV
• develop your practical cooking skills and gain knowledge and experience of food and catering related issues (additional weekly session based at Salford Sports Village)

You will gain:
• level 1 employability qualification
• level 2 food safety in catering qualification

Charlestown Forum

This year we are trialling a new way of delivering the neighbourhood forum in Charlestown. Our neighbourhood development worker will be out and about in the area week commencing 7th October talking to local residents and collating their issues and priorities. If you would like to discuss an issue or priority with Lynn, she will be delivering a surgery session in the cafe on Thursday 10th October from 1pm - 4pm.

Kersal Forum

The forum is chaired by a local resident and is an opportunity for members of the community to come together and discuss what is going on in their area and develop ideas for the future. Wetlands Wild Day

Join us for a fantastic Fungi Hunt on the Kersal Wetlands with Dave Winnard from Discover the Wilds!

Everyone is welcome to join us but please make sure all children are accompanied by an adult and pets must not attend. Please ensure you wear suitable footwear and be aware that there are steps and uneven ground.

Please meet by the main entrance to the Wetlands off Littleton Road M7 3TL Just over the bridge from the racecourse Hotel.

Pond Dipping and Net Sweeping

Join our team together with the Salford Friendly Anglers and Salford Rangers, for an afternoon of pond dipping and net sweeping on the Kersal Wetlands. How many insects can you identify? What sort of wildlife is living in the wetlands area? A great afternoon of family fun!

Please be aware that the wetlands include steps and uneven ground so appropriate footwear must be worn. Children should be accompanied by an adult and we ask that pets are not brought along.
