Inspiring Communities Together have been delivering walk and talk sessions across Salford green public spaces during the pandemic. The project was established following feedback from people who have been attending our virtual activity programme.
As part of our virtual programme we have been asking people about how they are feeling and what they are doing less or more of. During the first lockdown feedback was that people were spending more time at home and taking less physical activity, however they were concerned about how safe it was to go back outside.
Walk and talk provided an opportunity to bring people together – many of whom had met for the first time during the virtual programme and encouraged more physical activity.
The short video was the starting point of building confidence to go out – showing public spaces as safe spaces.
