Riverbank Park – funds secured to refurbish the park

by Antonia Dunn on March 29, 2021

Mike Duddy, Chair of Inspiring Communities Together said " The park is a much loved provision and it will be great to see it open again before the summer providing good quality green spaces for local people to use."
In 2020, Riverbank Park was closed due to the poor state of repair.  Inspiring Communities Together working with local residents and the children from Yogurt Pots childcare set about securing funding to carry out the work required to enable the park to reopen.
The children created a short video Our Park, Riverbank Park and local residents took the time to complete our online questionnaire with over 100 responses received.  All this work was used to submit bids to Veolia, East Salford Neighbourhood budget and the Standing Together fund.
Thanks to everyone’s hard work and the commitment from the funders we have now secured all the funds needed to start work and reopen the park.
Thanks also to Salford City Council who helped with the bid and have committed the match funds required to secure the Veolia bid.
